Tea Used: China Mist Pure Blackberry Jasmine Iced Green Tea with Lemonade Max Solano, Mixologist from Table 10 and Delmonico's Steakhouse, creates a tasty drink that he describes as a herbaceous fresh botanical tea drink. The frothy "Green Juniper" complements this China Mist Pure Blackberry Jasmine Iced Green Tea with Lemonade exquisitely.

Recipe:
1.5 oz China Mist Pure Blackberry Jasmine Iced Green Tea with Lemonade
1.5 oz of Hendricks Gin
¾ oz of Agwa Coco Leaf SHOULD BE COCA
½ oz fresh lime juice
¾ oz of vanilla/clove infused simple syrup (or bar syrup)
1 egg white
Garnish with cucumber wheel and mint

Agwa de Bolivia coca herbal liqueur

While this stuff packs a unique taste, it didn't give me any buzz to write home (or even blog) about. Still, the stuff gets points just for being what it is.

Agwa de Bolivia contains coca leaf extracts and is sold as bottled green liquid (or in small vials of pale yellow, orally-ingestible powder).

That's right, I said coca; the same, totally illegal plant that is used to cultivate cocaine.

Upon hearing this I had one two-part question: Is it legal, and, if so, how?

Here's the scoop: The purveyors take Bolivian coca leaves, then fly them to Amersterdam for processing. There, the cocaine is extracted and alcohol and 36 herbs and botanicals are mixed in before the final product is shipped to the U.S.

Upon arrival in America, it is inspected by both the FDA and Homeland Security to ensure everything is both legal and safe for consumption.

While Agwa de Bolivia contains no cocaine whatsoever, the booze will still give you a buzz, with 30 percent, 60-proof alcohol content.

Agwa at the Q Awards After Party

U2, The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Coldplay, Radiohead, The Who, Arctic Monkeys and more have all attended the annual Q Awards, one of the most legendary events in the music calendar.

A megastar line up is guaranteed, as is plenty of controversy. Whether it’s Elton John having a pop at Madonna, Liam Gallagher rucking with Robbie Williams, Liam Gallagher calling Chris Martin a “plant pot” or Liam Gallagher starting a fight in an empty room, there’s sure to be something going on. And the biggest names in music.

The Q Awards 2007 took place on 8 October at the Grosvenor, Park Lane, London, with this year’s after party at Café De Paris in Leicester Square. AGWA de Bolivia was an official partner of the after party, with Q Magazine entrusting AGWA with mission to of wake everybody up, shake them about …. and to get a proper party started after the seated awards ceremony!

Mark Ronson was the DJ, and the party was a who’s who of music and media personalities. Damon Albarn’s entourage and the Gorillaz took a big interest in AGWA; a bottle was downed by their table whilst a row about whether an AGWA short tasted better with or without lime was resolved! Comedian Alan Carr was an immediate AGWA convert; the Q Dancers ignored the podiums and took to the speakers after an AGWA each …. and Sigur Ross took it in terms to try and fail to complete the Bolivian Kiss ritual with their Q Award for innovation balanced on their heads.

It was definitely mission accomplished for AGWA at the Q Awards Party!

With the help of AGWA, Erick Morillo returned to take over London in his own flamboyant manner.

Subliminal, a name synonymous with quality dance music hit the capital for this 10th birthday party featuring an all night long main room onslaught from Erick Morillo and the mighty David Guetta. Keeping it sexy in the Bar, Marc Hughes, Richard Murray and Shane Kehoe were playing for Housexy with a South American twist provided by 'AGWA De Bolivia'.

Again, a massive thanks to all involved, especially our 2 Inca Warriors on the night who kept all the party-goers 'Tuned In' with AGWA.
